Opulent Auto launches storage product  ( April '25,2006, BS)

Pune-based Opulent Auto Care has launched HardLiner, a value-added product for transport operators carrying perishable items such as fruit and vegetables, fish or milk as well as building material including stone metal, sand and cement.

S Sathyaprakash, MD, Opulent Auto Care, said Hardliner is basically a ready to use polyurethane coating developed by Swiss-based Waxoyl AG. The product is sold by the company under brand name Waxoyl Bed Liner.

The coating prevents rust and corrosion and is waterproof, flexible and repairable, Sathyaprakash informed.

"It provides a tough coating that can withstand any kind of rough handling, enabling the owner to transport any kind of material without the tray being corroded," he said.

Along with the roadliners, the product is also applicable to marine, recreational, trailer, industrial, farm and other industries.

"Initially, we will focus on the automobile sector in India and slowly diversify into other industries as well," said Sathyaprakash.

Opulent's association with Waxoyl will complete four years in May 2006 and the company expects to reach a sales target of Rs 100 crore by the year 2010. Currently, the company has a network of 38 certified regional distributors spread across India.

Opulent plans to scale this up to 50 regional distributors during the current year. Eric Knorpp, vice-president, Waxoyl AG, who was in the city to unveil the new product line, said, "Right now, we are focusing only on automobiles in India. We are also gearing up to offer our solutions to more segments of transportation and for other areas of storage and maintenance."
