Citi Style plans stores to push retail sales (
April '7,2006, BS)
Kolkata-based fashion chain Citi Style plans to increase the number of stores across the country.
Citi Style has stores in Kolkata and Jamshedpur, and will set up one in Varanasi soon. Citi Style specialises in garments for men, women and children, having launched a year ago with focus on affordability. "Citi Style plans a systematic expansion across the nation with deeper foray in the east with the slogan, 'Get more 4 Less'," said director Ravi Goenka. Citi Style recently set up a manufacturing plant in Bengal with combined capacity of producing 10,00,000 garments per annum. The Citi Style range covers casual clothing like denims, semi-formal trousers and shirts and formal officewear for men as well as western outfits, casual fashion, Indian ethnic wear and nightwear for women. Rajiv Goenka, director of Citi Style, said, "Citi Style will innovate with fabrics and products to stay abreast, if not ahead, of trends in the garment industry along with excellence in service to the sales network as well as to the consumer". Rajiv Goenka said the exclusive factories for Citi Style cut down on costs and made clothes affordable by combining manufacturing and retailing. A former manufacturer for other brands, Rajiv Goenka said he created the Citi Style brand to sell directly to consumers at bottomline prices. The aim was to venture beyond the metros, into smaller towns which offered a larger market with growing retail consumer base waiting to be tapped. The Citi Style brand was under RG's Fashion Pvt. Ltd.
