Maha Scooters gets `merger` traction  ( September '9,2004, BS)

Maharashtra Scooters stocks witnessed renewed buying on reports that the two-year long tussle between Bajaj Auto and Western Maharashtra Development Corporation would be resolved by end of October.

The stock as a result spurted to an intra-day high of Rs 153 before closing at Rs 150, up 14.5 per cent from its previous close.

The dispute over the valuation of the joint venture company has been on over the last two years now. Maharashtra Scooters counter on Wednesday witnessed volumes of more than 28,000 shares on the BSE.

Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto stocks ended marginally higher at Rs 916.15 on the back of volumes of over 1.3 lakh shares on the BSE alone.
