Sony Mony Group Forays Into Malls  ( June '8,2004, FE)

The Sony Mony Group, which is into retailing of consumer electronics and durable products, has recently ventured into the mall segment. To start with, Sony Mony has launched Asia’s largest electronic mall at Vile Parle in Mumbai.

Plans are afoot to set up 12 ‘Sony Mony’ malls in Mumbai and Delhi in the next two years. According to Sony Mony managing director Ramesh Shah: “The objective behind setting up a 22,000 sqft size electronic mall is to provide all consumer electronics and durable products under one roof. Based on the basic concept of selling, the mall will provide guidance for better usage of products to all its customers. Apart from consumer electronics, the mall will also display mobile phones and IT products. Leading brands such as Samsung, LG, Onida, Whirlpool, National Panasonic, Siemens, IFB, HP and Hitachi will be available.”

This mall has been divided into various sections like entry lobby, audio gallery, appliances section, IT section, consumer electronic section, customer care and finance, among others.
