CavinKare Lines Up New Skin, Hair Care Products  ( May '7,2004, FE)

The Chennai-based, CavinKare Private Ltd will soon be launching new products in the skin and hair care segments. The company, however, did not divulge any details on the exact nature of the product and the time of the launch.

However, officials said that the move comes as part of the company’s strategy to consolidate and extend its product range. Anupam Dutta, vice-president, marketing, CavinKare, said, "We are facing heavy competitive pressures from the other FMCG players and as an ongoing process to our fightback, we will be launching new products in the hair and skin care segments."

CavinKare will also be launching its new brand of fairness cream, ‘Fairever Mantra’ in South India by the end of May. Earlier, the company had launched the product in north and west India.

The new product combines fairness ingredients from all parts of the country thereby giving it a pan-Indian appeal. "Saffron and milk used in the ‘Fairever’ cream was more of a South Indian fairness ingredients which perhaps explains our strong market share in the fairness cream market down South. However, now after having had key consumer learnings from the South, we have launched a comprehensive product which combines the traditional fairness ingredients from every part of the country.
