Corrosion-proof steel bars from Kamadhenu  ( January '11,2001, HBL)

KAMADHENU Ispat Ltd, the private sector company which manufactures quality Thermal Mechanical Treated (TMT) steel bars, has introduced Kamadhenu Gold TMT for the construction industry.

Announcing the launch, Mr Satish Aggarwal, Managing Director of the company, said the new product was a special kind of reinforcement-bars used in multistoreyed buildings, underground applications, bridges, flyovers, dams and industrial structures.

These bars are developed after intensive R&D and have better corrosion-resistant property, he said. He noted that the TMT bars also have better resistance to fire-hazard, high strength, very good duplicity and better bending property. Mr Aggarwal said the company was in a position to supply the product in a wide range. He said his company was gearing itself up in such a manner that the product was made available to consumers at a short notice.

The company would be more cautious in manufacturing and maintaining quality standard bars, he said. On the pricing front, the TMT costs slightly more than the conventional CTD bars. This is due to the new technology used and the advancement done in the product. But, he said, the superior-advantage attached with them would ultimately reduce the construction cost.
